About me – Futureproof Mum
Welcome to the blog that was born 5 years after I became a mum, the day I felt I had to write down everything I’m learning on this beautiful journey. This is the story behind the chaos, the healing, and the honest parenting posts that make this space what it is.
I Thought I Knew Life. Then I Had Kids… Futureproof Mum
Hi, I’m Monalisa.
Before motherhood, I thought I had things sort of figured out, or at least faked it well enough to pass for a functioning adult.
Then I had kids. Everything changed.
Suddenly, I was navigating the deep end of parenting with zero instruction manual, a cup of cold tea, and a toddler narrating their bodily functions at full volume in public. Glamorous, right?
But somewhere in that chaos, something unexpected happened:
I started seeing life differently.
Not just in an “aww, they grow so fast” way, but in a “this whole system is wild and we deserve better tools” kind of way.
💻 What Is Futureproof Mum?
This blog is what happens when a burnt-out, emotionally overloaded mum decides to rebuild her life with faith, funny stories, and AI tools.
You’ll find a little bit of everything here:
🍏 Natural health and healing discoveries (that work even when your child only eats beige foods)
🧠 Emotional survival tips (for the 8,000th “MUMMY LOOK!” of the day)
📖 Ways to talk to your kids about God, emotions, and why broccoli exists
💡 AI-powered shortcuts for mums who don’t even have time to finish this sente….. (’ve learned more about AI from free tools like ChatGPT than I ever expected)
In short: I test things. I share what works.
And I try to do it all with humour, honesty and hope.
📍 Why I Started This Blog
I started Futureproof Mum because I kept thinking:
Why does no one talk about the real stuff?
Like the behind-the-scenes meltdowns, or the strange joy of discovering a new healing food.
Or the 2 a.m. Googling spirals that lead you to answers you didn’t know you needed.
There’s the overwhelm. The resilience that follows. The rage no one talks about. And finally: the healing.
If I figure out a way to do life better: I write it down.
And when AI saves me 2 hours and 3 brain cells, I share it.
If a Bible verse hits me like a divine slap in the face: you better believe it goes in the blog – Start here with the latest posts
🌍 Who This Is For
If you’re a mum who:
Feels like she’s winging it
Wants to raise strong, spiritually-rooted, healthy kids
Loves shortcuts, soul talk, and survival tips
And dreams of building something after bedtime,
then this is for you.
You don’t need perfect. You need possible.
And if no one’s said it today: you’re doing so much better than you think.
💬 Want to Connect?
Shoot me an email. Drop a comment. Whisper encouragements into the void.
Just don’t ask me what’s for dinner. Even AI can’t solve that one yet.

Mums are never a “just.”
We’re born the moment our children are.
Suddenly, we’re crawling through sleep deprivation.
Somewhere along the way, we learn a whole new language: the tiny one, the tantrum one, the “mum-look” one.
Over time, we become negotiators, healers, snack distributors, human shields, and emotional translators.
We find ourselves answering impossible questions like, “Why is the sky shy when it rains?” and “What does forever mean?”
We parent while healing, lead while second-guessing, and love with everything we’ve got (even when we’ve got nothing left).
Mums aren’t “just” anything. We’re phenomenal.
